Calophyllum ("beautiful leaf", from Greek kalos, "beautiful", and phullon, "leaf") is a plant genus of around 180-200 species of tropical evergreen trees in the family Clusiaceae. Its members are native to Australasia, Madagascar, Eastern Africa, South and Southeast Asia, the Pacific islands, the West Indies and Latin America. The common names, as well as commercial names, for these trees are:

• teitai (in Kiribati),
• Feta'u (in Tonga),[1]
• Bintangor tree (in Malaysia) and
• Poon tree (in India),
• Guanandi, Jacareuba or Santa Maria (in Latin America).

How to Renew Wood Floors

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy Step1
Remove all furniture and rugs from the room. Sweep and vacuum the floor thoroughly to pick up loose dirt and debris.
Step2
Use a hardwood floor cleaner to remove dirt and grease ground into the urethane finish, paying particular attention to high traffic areas. Rinse or change the applicator pad or cloth frequently to avoid additional scratching. See the resource section for suitable cleaners.
Step3
Apply a thin coat of wood floor renewer with a synthetic applicator pad. Cover the entire floor in one application. Let it dry for 2 hours. See the Resource section below for choices of wood floor renewers.
Step4
Reapply wood floor renewer every 6 months to protect the floor and keep it shiny. Put felt pads or protectors on furniture legs to prevent scratches and scuffs. Add throw rugs or runners to high traffic areas and lay nonskid pads under them to prevent them from sliding around.
